The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society Library

Here is a partial list of our ever-growing collection.

· Over 5,000 books for genealogical research covering all of the U.S., Canada, and most European countries.

· A growing collection of microfilm and microfiche, including Washington, Oregon and California death indexes and California and Washington marriages.

· Stillaguamish Valley newspaper collections on microfilm.

· Pennsylvania Archives Collection.

· Large collection of research books covering topics such as miltary records, colonial America, archives, surnames, land and vital records, immigration and migration, using newspapers, and more.

· The "Clara Matthias Collection" containing Snohomish, Skagit, Island and Kitsap County cemetery readings.

· Obituary collections from the Everett Herald (historically the primary newspaper for Snohomish County), early Snohomish County marriages and death records.

· Federal Census on microfilm for Snohomish County in 1870-1920. Washington State Territorial Census 1857-1860.

· Snohomish County 1910, 1942, 1960, and 1975 Plat books with index.

· War of the Rebellion Series (Union and Confederate).

· Obituary collection from the Arlington Times from its earliest publication, cemetery readings from area cemeteries, funeral home records, a large collection of historical information from surrounding cities and historical areas.

· Snohomish County Directories starting with 1894.

· A large collection of Missouri records on microfilm.

- Periodicals from genealogy societies around Washington State.

- Popular genealogy magazines.

Internet Access with memberships in prepaid web sites of genealogical interest.

Copiers available. Copies are 10 cents each. Please bring change to pay for your copies. We do not take credit cards and we cannot make change for our visitors.

Directions to the library:

FROM I-5: take Exit 208 and travel east on Hwy 530 about 3 miles to where 530 intersects with Hwy 9. Go through the light, then go four blocks to the crest of the hill and turn right onto French Avenue. Drive 6 blocks until you reach the Highland Christian School. The library is located just past the school in a yellow house with slate blue trim. Park anywhere on the street or in the parking lot at First and French. Handicap parking is available behind the house (follow the asphalt driveway to the back of the house).

FROM HWY 9 NORTHBOUND: turn right on Highland Avenue (the intersection past Safeway), turn left on French Avenue, then go until you reach the library at 215 South French.

FROM HWY 9 SOUTHBOUND: from Skagit County, turn left at the intersection of Hwy 9 and Hwy 530, then follow the directions above to French Avenue.
